SEC Waste Prevention Campaign

Project Stage/Status: Implementation/Active

Project Description: Students have developed a food re-purposing project to take leftover food from the dining halls to homeless shelters.

Key Stakeholders: Kenny, Campaign Co-chair, Sarah Finder Good Neighboor CUIP and UCSC Dining.

Next Steps: Come to SEC General Gathering every Wednesday at 6:30pm in the College 8 Red Room.

 In-Vessel on Campus Composting

Project Stage/Status: Proposal development/Active

Project Description: SEED course students and various key staff have developed a proposal. This proposal was selected in SEED course for continuation through independent study.

Key Stakeholders: CASFS, SEED, Dining Services, Campus Waste and Recycling, Jake Rapport.

Next Steps: Stakeholders will continue to revise proposal and expect to submit the proposal for funding from the EPA P3 grant in Fall, 2010.

ESLP ART – Water Bottle Outreach Campaign

Project Stage/Status:  Implementation/Active

Project Description:  Create an outreach campaign to reduce plastic water bottle use.

Key Stakeholders: ESLP, SEC, Dining Services, Residential Life

ESLP ART – Kresge Garden Composting

Project Stage/Status: Implementation/Active

Project Description: This ESLP ART project will revamp the Kresge Garden composting system.

Key Stakeholders: ESLP, Kresge College, Gardner’s Alliance
